Gabi Peralta

Girlvana Yoga NYC Communications Intern

Gabriela (Gabi) Peralta is a Junior at Baruch College, studying Digital Communications and Culture with a Minor in New Media Arts. She's always been interested in pursing technology and design, recently implementing a goal for social change. This has led her to become a fierce advocate for women in STEAM, becoming a Built By Girls Ambassador and a Peer Mentor at Baruch College. Her work as a Built By Girls Ambassador has created new opportunities for the tech industry to work with young women and network with them. She has worked with Advisors at Snapchat, Twitter, The Huffington Post and IMDB to further her knowledge of UI/UX Design. Her work as a Peer Mentor has given her the opportunity to work in-depth with students and faculty to implement a safe space for students on campus and create programming for the wellbeing of all students at Baruch College.

Sahiti Kovvuri

Girlvana Yoga NYC Communications Intern

Sahiti is a sophomore at Baruch College, pursuing Data Analytics and Cultural Anthropology, she is specifically interested in learning how she can immerse herself in learning about womxn issues of global communities (specifically in diasporas across the US) through the lens of social and systemic change. Beginning her involvement with social justice advocacy around the age of 14 with the YWCA of the City of New York, she has since been moved to amplify and create safe spaces for women and non-binary identifying BIPOC through storytelling and community engagement. Sahiti’s favorite part of her work is constantly learning from and growing alongside fellow youth organizers and social justice advocates to create intersectional change.

Anna Cimitile

I am a 22 year old native New Yorker. I recently graduated college as a General Psychology major and now I am studying to be a Software Engineer! I enjoy reading, exploring coffee places in Brooklyn (when possible, of course) and finding the connections between science and spirituality.

Charusmita (Charu) Madan

I am Charu, a Product Analyst at Bank of America, within the technology space!! Besides creating products, I love organizing events, community and virtual events - ask about how I met my best friend at my largest event ;) I love traveling and reading books!! My favorite book is 'Leaders Eat Last' by Simon Sinek, and my most recent getaway was The Hamptons. I am so excited to learn and hear from all the amazing leaders I am about to meet during The Retreat.

Gabrielle Bello

I am a social justice organizer, advocate, and non-profit consultant from the South Side of Chicago. I have been recognized with various awards, such as the Diana Award, which is the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts, due to my work with the YesSheCanCampaign.

Katerina (Kat) Raymond

I am completing a degree in Human Resources Management with a minor in Communication at Baruch College. Fun Fact: I enjoy learning new phrases in different languages and am currently learning Japanese. I am really excited to meet everyone and build a community focused on learning and support.

Nudrat Kadir

I am currently working at Rauxa, an advertising/marketing agency, as an Associate Strategist. A fun fact about me is that my name Nudrat means unique and one of a kind in Arabic. BONUS fun fact, during the pandemic, I have been cooking a lot more, from baking cakes and brownies to korean fried chicken. Needless to say, I've always found comfort in food, and that's showing up a lot more in the past few months (whether that be making the food or eating the food)

Radhika.png

Radhika Kalani

I am an Indian-American leader, innovator, and analyst based in NYC. I am a product manager during the day and an avid traveler, foodie, and reader by night.

ambassadors-simone.png

Simone Goldie

I’m a second year environmental science student from Vancouver, Canada. You can catch me doing all the creative things, stretching, or cooking it up in the kitchen. When the world is free again to do as we please I will be hopping on a plane somewhere that has sand.

ambassadors-teamare.png

Teamare (Tea) Gaston

I just go by Tea (Teh-ah). I am a graduate assistant in the Women's Resource Center at BMCC, currently working towards my masters degree in International Affairs and diplomacy. Short bios are always weird to write because how do we sum up our whole lives in two to three sentences for others to digest nicely? If I had to point out key traits about myself they'd be that I like scary movies, I travel a lot and I am an activist for human rights.

ambassadors-vidya.png

Vidya Tasa-Chadha

I am a student of Gender and Women’s Studies who is pursuing an academic career in the field of “body politics”. I am a yoga teacher with over 500h of training; I call my unique movement style “expressive meditation” because it emphasizes the importance of embodying one’s own body. I am a firm believer in the power of harnessing one's inner wisdom and the human right of self-expression. I am also a birth doula, energy healer, and mentor for self-identifying young women through my organization The Soul Sisters Society.
